Shareholder and Anne at WebFlyer, other threads have mentioned claims by mileage program customer service staff that "all" fares count for the OneWorld promotion, even though regularly some fares (such as Shareholders's "K" class) would not earn mileage credit.
But until I see that in writing from the program, I'm sticking to fares that will definitely earn mileage credit. If the customer service agent was wrong, or simply "misinformed", the loss due to missing airlines is simply too great compared with the minimal extra cost of fares that I know will earn the bonus! |
anybody know what flight numbers are non- shuttle? i found an itinierary with aa from jfk-bcn with ib bcn-mad flights in the middle at a n class fare, but how do i know if they're shuttle or not?
update: any flight that can be booked as a ticket between bcn-mad is NOT a shuttle. shuttles do not appear in the computer. they leave every 15 minutes, and you can buy them at the airport only. so, if you book the route and it appears on your ticket at an acceptable fare you (or i) should be safe. apparently, they had problems with the shuttles when they were listed in the computer. (probably irate flyers wanting boarding passes to see if their miles were going to be credited properly!!!) [This message has been edited by lonman (edited 10-20-1999).] |
JohnA, I would think flyers are definitely taking a big chance flying on fares that do not qualify for mileage. Although as per the BA rules they could possibly count as an eligible flight is one "which is marketed and operated by a oneworld alliance airline". Marketed means that there must be a oneworld alliance airline flight number on the ticket.

fyi.......i flew aa lga to mia on an "m" class ticket 10/1/99 and got full mileage credit on my ba (global/usa) account. mijne posted on a previous thread all the fare classes on aa that earn on ba......that list did not include "m" class tix for blue members (which i am).....however, i did get the credit....

billedr - Are you a US member or a "Global" member (non US/UK) of BA's Executive Club? The list I posted is only for "Global" members. Please note that the list with fare codes is valid as of Oct 31, 1999. So your flight dated Oct 1 is still subject to the old fare code rules.

my bad.....yes, i'm a "us" member not "global".......

Cdn has posted my YEG-YVR segment from Saturday. Now it's up to AA to post Monday's return segment later this week (don't know how fast they do this from partner airlines), or to find Cdn has posted it.
