Ticket rules for Explorer fare
Could some one tell me the ticket rules of the oneworld explorer product? I think I understand some of it but I can't find a post like the one in the Star Alliance thread, where ticketing rules are explained.
For example can you choose 3, 4 and 5 continents? Are there maximum stops and segments in each continent? Is there only one flight allowed between continents? Does the continent where you start and finish count as one of the continents? If you transit but do not stop in a continent (eg Australia to Europe transiting Asia), does the transit continent count? If I was for example starting in Europe and wanted to stop in North America, South America and Australia only, could that be done with a 3 continent ticket? Thanks for any help. |
Austman,
You can find the complete set of rules of any OW , STAR and other RTW fares at: http://travel.com.au under worldwide travel. Just go in and select Round-the-World fares leaving from anywhere in Australia. All rules are there. The prices are in AUD ! http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif MMM |
Excellent MMM! Thank you very much. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Austman, FYI....
When travelling through Europe to Australia, you have to include it as 3 continents (meaning even if you are flying on the same plane through Asia, you would STILL have to include it). Similarly if one is flying through LAX with a connection from SYD to LHR, you'd count North America as one continent too. So if y ou include Australia, North and South America, Europe....you would have to add Asia as the 5th continent! |
