Will Iberia eventually join oneworld? Does anyone have any detailed inside information with respect to the alliance's prospective members?

Iberia and Finnair have both officially joined 1w, but are not yet up to speed in terms of training, reservations, FF programs, etc. I don't remember the exact dates, but I think both were due to start 1w service in the early summer, around June.

I'm sure someone will come along shortly, an correct my dates.

Ken -- I don't know exact dates, but you're right, both Finnair and Iberia are to start later this year.

As for other new members, last weekend the Irish Independent reported that Aer Lingus is in talks with OW to break from their current partners. Also consider LOT, Malev, and maybe SAA as other possibilities. I recently read that AA was trying to do a three way deal with SAA and either Air Nambia or Ghana Airways but I haven't heard the outcome yet.
