RTW - interlining - Have I screwed up?

When booking my RTW ticket with BA, I totally forgot about the new policy on interlining (or rather lack of!)

I have three concerns:

1) My first leg is from EDI - LHR (arriving 8:25) then LHR - JFK (departing 9:40) on the same day. (both on BA metal). Can I can get my bag interlined to JFK or will I need change my onward journey, as I doubt I'll have the sufficient time to collect my bag/re-check it, go through security etc. I booked the sector on the Oneworld site as EDI-NYC.

2) I have a flight from HKG to PER via KUL with MH. I have a 7 hour layover in-between. On the Oneworld site I booked this sector as HKG-PER. Again will my checked bag be put through all the way to PER?

3) My final leg is is travelling from SYD-LHR with QF (arriving 06:50 at T3) then LHR-EDI (departing 08:45 from T5). Same question again, will my bag be interlined to EDI. I booked this sector as SYD-EDI on the Oneworld site.

Just a few extra notes:

I have 1 booking reference and 1 e-ticket number associated with the ticket.

I would be most grateful for everyone's advice in advance!

With 1 master PNR - 1 e-ticket you may be OK. But it is very confusing, and can be dependant on the check in agent. The individual airlines may have a PNR associated with the main PNR

Look here (click on the wiki to get links to the airline threads). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...kets-pnrs.html

Good luck. Would be good if you can come back and post how each segment goes

Interlining was only ever intended for single-ticket itineraries.

You will be able to check in your bags on any connecting sectors, subject to any other over-riding requirement (such as the need to pick up a bag when entering the US, for example)

The RTW ticket is 1 fare for the entire trip. As has been stated before, if you buy a through ticket on OW from A to Z via B,C, or D then your bags will through checked. If one does not buy a through ticket it is because it is you can't (award ticket + cash ticket) or 2 separate tickets with different fare basis (usually cheaper). It is this separate tickets and/or separate PNR that no longer allows through check of bags.

I would insist on through check where there is a legal connection on the same day.

Phew! That's a huge weight off my mind.

Many thanks to everyone's replies. :)

If its one 1 PNR then yes but separate tickets WITH different PNR THEN NO, THAT is if its a different airline. Oneworld DOES NOT honor the old policy of baggage interlining within the oneworld alliance IF THE TICKETS HAVE separate PNR.
Will need to be careful in the future.
