OW Emerald AA XP on Qantas

I purchased a really cheap rt ticket from Cheap o air. I am OW Emerald, AA Executive Platinum. Traveling on July 18, 2016. Itinerary: SFO-SYD-AKL and return the same way. What can I expect? Can I use lounges at SFO and SYD? How do I pull my Qantas itinerary into my AA list of trips? Will I earn any award miles on AA? Will I earn lifetime miles on AA?

You will be able to use the business class check in - ( You could use the 1st class one, but wouldn't expect there to be one give that there is no 1st class on the aeroplane )
You can use the lounge at SFO and SYD
You cannot view the Qantas booking from AA
With EP status, you can select seats ( other than exit row seats ) in advance free of charge on the Qantas site
If you have your AA FF number in the booking , then you will earn miles to AA as per table at https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...nes/qantas.jsp. If it is a really cheap ticket , then it will probably earn 25% base miles ( approx 2190 ) plus the same again as an EP member for a total of 4380 redeemable miles. You wll also earn about 4380 qualifying miles. If you are booked in a booking class not listed on that page, you will earn zero

Other than that, it will be an economy flight on a 747 to Sydney with a reasonable inflight entertainment system

Got it.

Thank you for the information. My AA number is in the Qantas reservation and I have selected my seats. My fare class code is "O", so I should get 25% miles for the trip. I am sure the lounges will come in handy. Thanks again.

Also, In Sydney, you will be able to use the 1st class lounge enroute to/from Auckland which is a pretty decent lounge.
