Despite the policy some travellers have succeeded in having bags interlined. But do not rely on baggage being interlined

Same answer as when asked in the other threads/posts. Asking again will not change the AA policy

Also, would I have QR lounge access in DOH since my flight segment from JFK-DOH is in J?
A question for the AA forum.
AA does not interline bags on separate tickets. Even AA to AA
AA forum--->Separate ticketing / PNR: AA, oneworld, through baggage & protection issues > 2016
You will need to collect your bags and then check-in / bag drop at DOH. Check you can enter Qatar.

DOH-SYZ in economy? Lounges access is for departures. Not arrivals

not sure what the gcmap link is relevant, but I think the oneworld rules on connecting flights is actually relevant here assuming the OP is in Y for the onward connection.

UL, JL and MH will still check through across tickets.
BA and QR will not check through, period. Even to themselves.
CX will check through to other CX/KA flights.
QF and AA will check through to their own flights, will check through to other oneworld provided one ticket is an award.
What if both tickets are awards? I have two separate PNRs booked via award miles/points through AA.com. 1st = DFW-JFK-DOH on AA metal, 2nd = DOH-SYZ on QR (OW alliance member). When I check-in at DFW will they process my luggage all the way through?

Yes, inbound from JFK in J and outbound DOH-SYZ is Y.

That post quoted is from nearly 6 years ago. As asked and answered in the other thread, AA will not check baggage through across separate reservations

If having to collect baggage is a big issue , then you need to rebook as a through booking or rebook onto QR DFW--DOH since QR will , I believe, check through (but check on the QR forum)

If this thread is still about OW airlines checked bags policy ?
