Just as an update: prices here are still fairly accurate/relevant. I recently booked a visit Europe pass and prices were still the same. Don't forget about taxes/fees, though. Most of the time (though not always), prices are more expensive than just buying one way tickets in these areas.

If I go to Cathay's website they provide a link to oneworld's website that then links to Cathay's website for pricing.

Hey,
The prices are not out there for the public. You can call and ask for base pricing to each airline, without taxes and fees, but it's their choice whether to provide that information or have to send an itinerary to the rate desk to price, etc.

That's true, and I should've phrased it differently. What I meant to say was that the OW website doesn't advertise them, and the RTW website can't calculate them. Thanks for catching that, Calchas.

I can confirm that this remains correct (except 2300 should be 2301 and 3000 should be 3001).
In your case, if you book M class, that would be 200USD (HKG-TPE) + 200USD (TPE-HKG) + 275USD (HKG-BKK) + 275USD (BKK-SIN) + tax if you want to book in M class. Please note though that I think you can very likely find better fares than this.

So... what are the use of these fares then? It seems the per-segment nature and small segment might make them useful for TP runs...
It seems that maybe the visit japan fare would be useful for a TP run (Y = 20 TP, so the TOHOKU one is 1.96 £/TP, but if you can upfare to J = 40 TP, so for a 1000 Yen upfare 1.07 £/TP), but the other ones are too pricey as you have to upfare to D/J which starts at around ~300USD for a small segment, yielding 40 TP at a really poor 0.179£/TP...
Maybe they're useful for last minute tickets, but the low fare class (S, for C1 for example) means that the low buckets are probably going to be sold out anyway.
Anyone got any better ideas for them?

Short jaunts can sometimes be cheaper than a one way fare, but it's really dependent. Most of this time, frankly, it isn't much of a deal. It's just more kind of cool that it exists.

If I book a connecting flight, will the miles be calculated on each of the flights separately i.e. two segments, or will the total distance be calculates and treated as one segment for pricing purposes.
