Initial flights in continent of orgin question
It's been a while since my last RTW, but I'm considering a ex-TYO DONE3 since I'll already be in Japan. My plan is NRT-HNL-USA-Europe-Asia. I read somewhere that one cannot use all of your segments before/after the 1st intercontinental flight. Is that the case? What about NRT-HKG-USA-Europe-Asia(3 segments)? Thanks...

Here is a link to the rules:
https://www.oneworld.com/documents/1...9-d346ec820edf In particular, see: (f) Only one international departure and one international arrival from/to the country of origin permitted EXCEPTION: Two permitted for origin USA when one arrival-departure is a transfer without stopover. NOTE - travel between USA and Canada is not counted as international. 8. STOPOVERS Permitted NOTE: 1. Minimum 2 stopovers required 2. Maximum two stopovers permitted in the continent of origin of which a maximum of one stopover is permitted in each direction in the country of origin. |
I'm not sure I understand your question, but
What about NRT-HKG-USA-Europe-Asia(3 segments)? |
I know that I cannot renter Japan or go thru TYO until the end of the trip. TYO-HNL-DFW-ANC-DFW-PHX-JFK-MAD-AMM-LHR-DOH-MAD-HGK-CMB-HKG-CGK-TYO Trying to maximize BA TP's, so all flights except > 2000 miles except DFW-PHX. Looks OK to me.

Don't forget AA flies ANC-PHX year-round. |
