Need help
 

Hello All

Currently in Lusaka, Zambia and about to start my trip back to the U.S (about to board a flight to Johannesburg).

My award trip is from JFK to JNB - and things have gotten really screwed up on my way back.

The legs were to be JNB > DOH > AMM > JFK

Doha to Amman was supposed to occur at 7 AM on the 18th and arrive at 9:45 and then Amman to JFK was supposed to occur at 1:25 PM arriving in JFK at 6:15 PM.

They've changed the flight time of Doha to Amman to 12:30 PM, causing me to miss my flight from Amman to JFK. They have then booked me from Amman to JFK on Saturday the 20th (so basically I have to wait 2 whole days).

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm in an area that is very difficult for me to make calls at the moment, I just have some internet access and none of the offices are open yet. Also - I don't think Qatar Airways has a general help email address that I can find.

This is also a business class award - so I don't know if that makes a difference.

The award is booked using miles/points from which airline? That's who you will need to call. Putting you on the non-stop DOH-JFK would be the obvious solution, if there's space etc.

Yes I've arrived in JNB now and tried to get help through AA but since it was booked in the past days prior to the US/AA merger, AA won't help me :(

I've called US and they're telling me it's the responsibility of RJ to fix the issue. The logical thing here would be to see if they can just put me on a Qatar flight from Doha to JFK, since they seem to operate more frequently than RJ.

So still not sure what I can do, if anyone can help me I am all ears.

HUCA with AA at least a few times. Their Twitter team is real good at replying too.

A quick update if anyone was curious.

I ended up getting the routing changed from
JNB to HKG to JFK. It was a split second decision and it actually gets me there earlier than the original itinerary (albeit with a ton more flying). Pretty crazy to go to Hong Kong to get to NYC but hey, I've always wanted to fly Cathay Pacific.

About to board HKG to JFK!
