QR absent in Oneworld RTW itinerary

I was redirected from the QR website to the OW site, to plan a RTW trip starting from CAI.

The first leg was CAI-DOH. And this is what OW Explorer offered me:

AMM, BEY - RJ
AMM, JED - RJ
AMM, DMM - RJ
AMM, KWI - RJ
AMM, DXB - RJ
AMM, AUH - RJ
AMM, BSR - RJ
AMM, RUH - RJ
LON - BA

Where was CAI-DOH nonstop, QR?

reminder: I have no idea about oneworld RTWs in general..

But: Are you trying to book a J RTW? QR probably doesn't operate J on this route... they sell J as F instead.
Just a guess though.

The OW Explorer tool doesn't allow you to pick and choose, you have to pick the class for the entire itinerary. However in the itinerary I did is also included LAX-JFK on AA metal: this flight is on a A320/321, which is coded F. OW had no problem with this as far as AA is concerned, but the situation with QR J flights being coded F is identical.

I will try doing the entire itinerary in Y, just to see whether QR is still left out of the calculation.

EDIT: yes, the same problem occurs even in Y. Only RJ flights to DOH, via AMM. And I have tried on different dates.

It seems strange to me that OW would leave out QR on their RTW routes. I can book a return CAI-DOH through the OW website, and that does allow a direct QR flight.

Try posting on the oneworld forum. RTW and the tool you reference are oneworld products, and the FT expertise resides in that forum.

The tool sends the itinerary to the first marketing carrier to ticket. QR refuses to ticket RTW fares, so the tool will not show QR marketed flights for the first flight.

Try communicating with AA's GSA in Cairo, Emeco, to see if they can ticket and accept payment. They're very experienced with RTWs.

Actually, I just flew QR JNB-DOH-MIA on a DONE05. The flights may not come up on the tool, but the AA RTW desk can book them.

Yes... and I never said you couldn't.

Known bug seems that QR doesn't work well as the first segment on the RTW tool. You have to call to get it setup.

QR As 1st Flight of RTW

I know that. I was just clarifying for others on the board as the issue seemed somewhat ambiguous. No on had explicitly stated that you can book a RTW with QR as the first flight. Mine, a DONE05 ex-JNB, was ticketed by AA South Africa. The first 2 flights of the ticket where on QR.
