Perhaps change LHR-MCT-LHR-DOH to LHR-DOH-CDG-DOH?

How funny, despite even typing UK to mid east it never occurred to me to use other nearby countries if a 3rd and maybe even 4th flight to the mid east is wanted. DOH to many places is possible, there's also DUS or TXL to/from AUH. Handy thought: tnx!

I never thought of it either, zoombee; it's a great idea. And QR has both 388 and 346 service to CDG with F.

For this particular case, ExpertFlyer shows AA8432/8413 for simple NRT-SIN-NRT seach specifing AA.

A simple NRT-CGK-NRT search (AA only) returns AA8499/AA8497,AA8498

So, probably, you can book without a connecting AA flight.

No you can't... unless its RTW ticket. Other flights, you've got to connect to a AA flight to/from North America.

By booking sorely AA flight numbers on a NRT-CGK-NRT flight for example, you will find that there is no fare for this. Hence you can't actually issue a ticket.
