How long for AA status to update in One World
 

I've just reached Platinum Status in AAdvantage, and my new status is showing in my account on AA.com as of today.

I have an existing booking on BA for which I'd now like to take advantage of the advance/free seat selection benefit for one world Sapphire status (I'm only Blue in BAEC).

Having called BA direclty - they are saying my AA status is still showing as OW Ruby.

Does anyone know how long it should take for BA to be able to see my upgraded OW status in their systems?

BA's systems are poor at picking up changes in status even for their own FFs. The system often works better if you have an agent remove the FF number manually from the PNR then add it again. Some people have also reported success in doing this themselves using the Finnair website (this uses the same background system as BA's). How long the updated info will take to filter through from AA though, I do not know.

AA doesn't push new status to existing reservations. Call the PLT number and ask them to refresh your status so it reflects on existing reservations. You status should reflect right away.

I had same problem with BA recognizing change in AA status. I took about 5 days for it to sync up.
