- Passengers on an itinerary which includes First & Business Class travel on a oneworld marketed and operated flight longer than five hours connecting§ to/from a domestic oneworld Marketed and Operated flight or an international short haul (five hours or less) oneworld Marketed and Operated flight.
- *Recent Reports indicate the following access is being denied with Patrons being redirected to the Flagship Lounge in T4*: First and Business Class passengers traveling on an American Airlines Marketed and Operated flight between Los Angeles & New York on three class aircraft.

I actually had to look up the details on the rules. Unfortunately, the current convoluted OW Connect partner rules would not allow you access. From the OW site-
"Lounge Access.
Indulge yourself before departure when travelling on a oneworld connect journey involving Fiji Airways and a oneworld sponsor, either British Airways, Cathay Pacific or Qantas Airways."
AA is not included in that list.

Hi everyone,
shamelessly cross posting here from AA
I'm flying LAX - SYD on July 3 with my sister and brother in law. I see that my status only lets me bring in 1 guest with me to the Flagship Lounge and they are strict on the limit. Is anyone flying out Wednesday night and has an extra plus one for AA FL or OW business lounge they would be willing to share? At the moment we probably plan to arrive at LAX at 830/9pm but have flexibility.

Later this year, my spouse and I will be traveling MEL-LAX (QF J)-MIA (AA F, non flagship). We have no OW status. We arrive TBIT (6:10 AM), depart T4, with a 3.5 layover at LAX. We both have Global Entry, so I expect our entry to the U.S. to be pretty quick allowing of plenty of time for lounge access, if feasible, for a quick shower before our transcon. flight. In reading the AA/OW rules and scanning of this board, I understand that we: 1. will not have access to any AA branded lounge in T4, 2. should theoretically have access to the OW lounge in TBIT. and, 3: will be allowed by TSA in TBIT to re-clear security with our Miami bound boarding passes even though our flight departs from T4. So, once we clear immigration/customs at TBIT, my plan is to go through security in TBIT to access the OW lounge on level 5. Then, head to our gate using the TBIT-T4 connector, also on level 5, allowing sufficient time for a security check before we enter T4. Does this plan sound reasonable and, if so, how much lead time would you suggest we allow for before heading to our 9:40 MIA flight? Some much earlier posts on this thread indicate that staff at the OW lounge have been known to deny entry for travelers not departing TBIT. I am also assuming that, as we will access the lounge right around its 6:30 AM opening time, capacity control should not be an issue.

Due to the QF J tickets and then connecting to another OW flight on the same day, you both will have access to the AA Flagship Lounge in T4 and the OW Business Lounge in the TBIT. You can even do both if you have the time. Just save your MEL-LAX boarding pass for quicker validation of your eligibility. You should have no issues accessing either lounge.

But I did not know that it also applies in reverse as well as we re-enter the U.S. Much appreciated information. Interestingly, the Qantas App shows eligible lounge access all along our journey, with the exception of inbound LAX, where it displays no eligible lounge information. Based on your reply, that appears to be misleading.
Indulge yourself before departure in a wider range of airport lounges when you fly First Class or Business Class with any oneworld member airline.
- Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. First Class passengers may use a Business Class or frequent flyer lounge if a First Class lounge is not available.
- First Class passengers may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline.
- Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
- First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
- Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
- You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

Does anybody know if the TBIT OW Lounge or the QF F Lounge is open at the moment. According to oneworld.com, they are not listed as closed.
I'll be flying QR 740 to DOH this month and if one of these lounges are not open, I'll probably end up with the AA Admirals Club in Terminal 4.

Qualify, yes, open, don't know. If the LAX-MIA was on a 77W, it would technically also qualify for Flagship First Dining (both in LAX and MIA), and the QF First Lounge at LAX. But none of these options are open currently and who knows when they will come back.
