Buying DAS13 or DCIR22 ex-BKK
Have trawled the forum for a while but couldn't find anything reasonably recent...
Can anyone recommend a way to buy a DAS13 (Circle N/S Asia + SW Pacific) or DCIR22 ex-BKK ? I rang the AA RTW desk and they were able to do a DCIR22 itinerary to be priced in THB (waiting for that to happen), but how would I go about actually buying it ? From what I've read in the posts I've found searching, using a credit card in BKK without being there in person can be difficult. The lady I spoke to said they would be unable to do a DAS13 itinerary because it wouldn't touch the US. Has anyone else out there done a DAS13 ex-BKK ? |

*Any* oneworld airline can issue a oneworld product. They just try to get out of it in some cases (such as this one as AA won't get anything out of it once all the flights are used)

Ticket Sales Centers - Thailand Bangkok TT Aviation Co. Ltd. (GSA) 140/13 ITF Tower 10th Floor Silom Road Suriyawongse, Bangrak, Bangkok 10500 Reservation Phone: (+66 2) 6341030/031/032 Sales Phone: (+66 2) 2376917 Fax: (+66 2) 2316488 Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Closed Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Please conduct ticketing transactions at this facility because airport ticketing is not available. Since you want to buy without being there you are going to have to find a travel agent or a oneworld airline office or GSA that is willing to take your credit card info over the phone. You could call the AA GSA listed above and see if they will do it. Otherwise try CX. |

Above AA ticket office is the same as CX ticket office - just a different room.
OP probably wants to issue through AA cos its less taxes. But unless there are AA segments on it, it isn't going to be possible. Looks like OP must issue via CX. |
So I can see on aa.com the DCIR22 I specced out has been priced up, but the price is a bit weird - base fare is THB196,000 and there's another THB7,000pp in fees, etc.
However, according to Expertflyer, the base for a DCIR22 should be THB176,000 ? Regardless, after a bit more thought, my wife and I have decided we're struggling to see the value in either of these since we'd basically just be using them to get to either the USA or Japan without any other stops, so we're going to use QFF points to get from Europe to KUL, then a cheap MH flight to get us from KUL back to BNE. Thanks for the replies above. Have filed away the info for next time. |
