Any Oneworld FF programmes open to under-18s?

Dear experts,

Would any of you happen to know which (if any) of the Oneworld FF programmes are open to children? Mrs. TMT and I would like to enrol TMT Junior into a programme.

By way of background, we're based in Hong Kong (though not from Hong Kong - indeed TMT Junior has direct relatives on four different continents) but CX Marco Polo doesn't allow anyone under the age of 18 to enrol.

Thanks in advance,

TMT

Under 18's can be enrolled in the BA Executive Club as part of a household account.

MPC is different from AisaMiles and is a vehicle for status. Asia Miles earns redeemable award credits, not status.

AA

We enrolled the kids in American advantage since they were small. No problem.

My kids have been members of AA their entire lives. As young teens they were Platinum level getting upgraded based on their own status.

Thanks

Thanks all - looks like AA may be the appropriate option then (it doesn't make sense being just in Asia Miles but not in Marco Polo, and the BA Household account has too many restrictions).

AA is a good choice so long as you don't expect them to earn status. AA has a minimum flight/mile quota on their metal, meaning you can't fly just CX/JL/QF and earn status. And given the future changes when the AA and US programs merge, who knows what you'll be getting. So unless you're needing a plan for pending travel, waiting a couple months might be helpful. But you could always change.

Ah yes - that's a good point; thanks.

Just so you know - I pushed CX to let me in when I was 16. I applied several times and they finally approved. My flying pattern probably helped.

Thanks, but there is perhaps a small difference between 16 years and 16 months...*

*Actually, a bit older than 16 months now, but I'm using the 16 for rhetorical purposes!

AA does not currently enforce that term in its membership, so can definitely get status without going anywhere near an AA marketed flight

My son has been a JL member since he was 5 months old.

I signed up my son with AA before he left the hospital. He wasn't even a month old. :D
