PPT or Bora Bora?
 
I am looking to get to Bora Bora on OW if possible. If not, I can settle for PPT and hop on a short flight.

What are my options to purchase a ticket to the general area of the world?

Only Lan flies to PPT, from SCL with a stop at Easter Island. Other services into Tahiti involve codeshares on TN metal.

Can I purchase a codeshare on TN metal and earn AA EQMs?

Not that I know of. You'll need to consult aa.com or the AA board for more details.

PPT or Bora Bora?
 
Bora Bora is only served by VT (Air Tahiti) from PPT. They are not part of any alliance. There are several airlines with international flights to PPT: LAN, Hawaiian (once a week from HNL), TN (from AKL, LAX, and NRT), AF (from LAX), Air New Zealand (AKL), and VT (RAR).
