How to book DONE4
Hello folks. Hope you can offer me some wisdom. I am trying to book a DONE4 but needless to say the booking engine didn't work online.
I was wondering if you can offer advice on who to phone to book this RTW? Points of consideration: 1. I am UK based and am flying London-London 2. I want to pay with AMEX 3. I want to be able to select seats with oneworld sapphire status Routing is as follows: 1. LHR-EWR (AY flight no, BA flight) 2. EWR-ORD (AA) 3. ORD-DCA (AA) 4. DCA-MIA (AA) 5. MIA-LAX (AA) 6. LAX-DFW (AA) 7. DFW-OGG (AA) 8. OGG-SYD (QF) 9. SYD-MEL (QF) 10. MEL-AKL (QF) 11. AKL-HKG (CX) 12. HKG-SIN (CX) 13. SIN-NRT (JL) 14. NRT-HKG-DXB (CX) 15. DXB-LHR (IB flight no, BA flight) Many thanks for advice. |
You will have difficulties with segment 8 as QF only flies into HNL so a surface segment in the xONEx will be needed (though I suspect you will fly HA OGG-HNL)
Which will cause difficulty with segment 14 as that is really two segments and your total number of segments will then be 17. Happy wandering Fred |
I have some spare time this morning, so
So I think if you correct your itinerary you should be able to purchase it using the tool Failing that, AY flies to the UK so you should be able to purchase it through one of its offices |
I'm probably missing something that is painfully obvious, but why AY? Being UK based, is a BA office not just as convenient?

If you start in EU you will save a lot of cash in the dreaded APD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Passenger_Duty
Try Mileage monkey http://slfft.org/, but may not be up to date, espically for QR Your itinerary http://slfft.org/mm/award.htm?owe=LH...B-LHR&cabins=y (ignore errors) |

Having AY ticket will have fewer fuel fees then if BA tickets.

I missed the part where AY has any piece of the ticket. I guess we have history that they'll ticket using their own code-share prices on BA or something?

Yup, missed the OP's clear statement that the LON-EWR segment was an AY code share. BTW AY tacks on GBP159 for "YR" and Her Majesty adds GBP174 for APD and PSC (premium cabins).
