Oneworld Status Match
Hey Guys,
I have some flights coming up in Asia and the flights that match my schedule are operated by OW carriers, does anyone know any OW airlines that are offering a status match from *A or Skyteam? Thanks! |
See this thread in the Miles Buzz forum:

OW airlines are not known to do status match's. Why should they:- whats in it for them ?
AA offer gold & plat challenges for accelerated status Doing an advanced search for "Status Match" would have been a good idea (and very simple) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...any-ideas.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...-question.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...-oneworld.html |
Air Berlin was offering 4 Month Gold a while ago, though I'm not certain if they'd match VA Platinum, considering they have a partnership with them now.
|
A number of American Express Platinum Charge cards outside of HK (I know of the UK and Singapore) offer Cathay Marco Polo Gold status without having to fly which is the equivalent of OW Sapphire and will provide you access to all the OW Lounges.
|
BA is currently matching - even from their partner AA's programme! - subject to certain conditions and only for North American residents.

CX recently matched my other half from BA Silver to CX Silver. They required proof of past 12 months flights and any upcoming bookings (of which she had several, most with Cathay)

(admittedly, CX Silver does allow lounge access in HKG) |

Isn't that a downgrade? From OneWorld Sapphire to OneWorld Ruby?

I read somewhere that CX historically status matches, but they match you down a tier (eg. *G to OWR)

what is the best option to get a OW status now? I have LH Senator and DL Platinum status - both until 2015.

Fly a lot in first or business? AA has the plat challenge for fast status. But no soft landing http://www.flyerguide.com/wiki/index...lenge_%28AA%29 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...-platinum.html |
thank you, I will check it out.
I have a BCN-JFK r/t, in O economy and a CDG-MIA in business ticketed by Iberia. Both in March - hope it's enough for gold. |
