Preferred seating, as OW Emerald ??

Hi everyone.
Reading OW-rules for the Emeralds, they state "Preferred seating, where offered ".
Does anyone know what this means ?
I will be travelling on BA-flight in WorldTraveller later this year.
I thought that I was able to select a seat at the time of booking as a Finnair Plus Platinum (=OW Emerald) but now it seems that this isnīt possible anymore free of charge.
Grateful for any response.

Correct, as a OW Emerald you are entitled to seat selection at time of booking. http://www.britishairways.com/travel...s/public/en_gb

Are you sure your Finnair FF number is included in the reservation? I would call BA and check with them to make sure it is, and also get your seat assignment at the same time.

As a oneworld Emerald, you should be able to select a seat 'free of charge' upon booking a BA flight.

Some airlines also block 'premium' seats which can only be selected by OW Emeralds, such as row 1.

Thanx for the replies.
But reading the BA-website under "Seating", they say "Some people can reserve their seats for free", and then GOLD member - from the time of booking. Nothing about OW Emeralds.
My AY Plus number is in my booking correctly and it seems that I only can choose a seat 24 hours befire the departure :-((.

You obviously didn't click on the link in my previous post (#2) as the headings in the columns shown on BA's web site list OW Emerald. Seems crystal clear, hence the reason I included the link.

What did BA agents say when you called?
