YQ on IB vs BA codes

The AA RTW desk tells me that YQ is now identical on IB and BA codes. It used to be much cheaper to book BA flights under IB codes. I tried checking this using ITA, pricing a dummy OW CPT-MAD in J, and it shows $3,114 in YQ as either BA or IB!

$3k in YQ doesn't make any sense, so I must be reading this wrong, but the fares do seem show that amount as YQ for both.

Don't know how you managed it, but the details you're showing are in mixed currencies

Have just checked in ita
and YQ on CPT-xLHR-MAD is showing as ZAR3114 not USD3114

Good catch, thanks. I just asked ITA to show me the info in USD.

That explains the weirdness ($350 sounds like a BA YQ), but does also seem to confirm what the AA RTW desk told me: that YQ on IB has been raised to BA levels.

What a pain. Can't say I'm surprised though. I hope they don't start sneaking it into other carriers too.

I checked a DFW-MEL trip on ITA a few days ago. I wanted to get the tax amounts in their 'native' currency, so I checked it in both USD and AUD. When it was priced in USD, the AU taxes were shown in USD. When it was priced in AUD, the base fare was in AUD and the taxes remained in USD...
