Osaka KIX Cathay Lounge?
Hi, Just wondering if anyone here had been to the Cathay Pacific lounge at Kansai airport. I've hunted around and not found much. I'm guessing that might be a bad thing but... Just seeing how the food selection was at breakfast time. Or is it just snacks? I'll be passing through in March so just wondering (and also seeing if I should get breakfast before). Thanks in advance.

You'd probably get better responses on the CX forum. There are a few mentions in these threads:

Yes, there is one. You have to look on the maps for sure. It is slightly hidden near to a gate...want to say 3 but sounds off. It is a pretty bad lounge. I've been there 3 times and it is small, overcrowded, has no view, and very average food. Shame really.

Thanks a lot for the responses. And good point (and link) about the CX forum.

ITs a truly awful lounge, small and barely anything to eat or drink. Tends to used by the smokers

Just to confirm what everybody else has said above: the lounge is not worth even looking for. Just avoid it.

I'm not sure what was meant by the comment about being used by smokers. There is no smoking in the lounge, and I don't recall a smoking room. It's too small. But it is Japan, and I'm sure that there are people there who recently exited a smoking room somewhere at the airport.
Sure, it's not an impressive lounge, small and with limited offerings, but I would rather wait inside than out. |
I was there yesterday waiting for my flight to HEL, got an invitation at check-in. Remembering this thread and walking past Asuka, i thought for a while to use my card to make a forced entry but decided to actually experience Pacific instead. Good move, the Pacific was 75% full when i arrived, but i was nevertheless able to get a private table.
Food offerings were limited with the usual set of snacks, but they also had some norimaki roll sushi. One said "Imitation Crabfish" and the other was some of that red bean inside. I went for the imitation crabfish. Next i hit the bar. They had the usual hard liqour, a bottle of red and an ice bucket with a white and a bottle of Gekkeikan sake. I felt that imitation sake would go well with imitation sushi, so i poured a drink and sat down to enjoy my meal. The noise level was very low and there was no hint of tobacco smoke. Next i decided to have a coffe from the coffe machine. Instead i tried out the "green tea with milk", and a lot of sugar, like a green tea latte. It tasted ok, as did the cup of coffe i tried next. There was also some small sandwich cuts beside the coffee machine and they tasted OK. So, my one hour experience was quite OK. Not a luxury longe but they have what you need and refilling was swift. |
