Oneworld ticket fare rules
Earlier this year, I noticed that oneworld had removed the fare rules for all the fare products from their website. I sent them an enquiry about it and received nothing back. A couple of weeks later (early March), there were some slight rule changes and the rules for the two RTW products were readded.
At the start of April, there were some additional changes to prepare for Air Berlin’s joining. At that time, they screwed up the link to the Oneworld Explorer rules and both RTW products linked to the rules for the Global Explorer. I sent another enquiry alerting them to this problem and again asking about the circle product rules. Again, nothing back, but with the rule change added AB to the xONEx, the link problem was corrected. I again sent an email asking about the circle product rules. This time I got a reply, stating that yes, the Oneworld Explorer rules were available on the website. Having answered a question I didn’t ask, I replied. A couple of days ago, I finally got back a response to the question I actually asked: A colleague has informed me that since the only way to book a 'Circle Trip Explorer' fare, is directly with the oneworld member airline themselves, these airlines will also be best able to answer any questions you have on rules and restrictions. Unlike the oneworld Explorer, it seems that these 'Circle' guidelines can change quite often. In order to receive the most recent and applicable information, passengers are encouraged to contact the airlines directly so that there isn't any confusion as to what is allowable or restricted on their itinerary. |

I'm not the greatest fan of Expert Flyer, but it's good to be able to go there and pull up the current rules (as published on the GDSs) and fares. I just had a quick glance at the Circle Explorer rules and it doesn't look like too much if anything has changed. |
