Royal Jordanian?

Kinda debating whether to create this thread in the 1w forum or the middle east airlines forum ... oh well, hopefully more people see my question here?

....

Dear oneworlders,

I'm thinking of defecting out of the :-: Alliance due to my FFP raising the elite requirements for 2013. I'm looking at the 1w and ST FFPs and I'm curious if anybody here knows much about the RJ Royal Plus FFP?

I look at their qualifications page for Platinum Plus (Emerald, highest tier right?) and hooooooopefully I'm reading it right that all I need is 55k tier miles??

I'm looking at their earn miles page and it doesn't say much, so I'm a bit confused :confused::confused::confused:

Does AA discount economy get 100% tier miles?
Do I get the tier bonus only for RJ or all 1w?
[edit: nvm, tier bonus is RJ only]

Thank you for your time

PS. does anyone know how expensive the RJ redemption on 1w is?

Try this link to the RJ mileage calculator: http://www.rj.com/en/ffp_mileage_cal...tml?learn_more

This will allow you see how much you would earn per flight.

You are right, Platinum / Emerald status (the highest) is (only!) 55K points.

Am curious as to how this compares to other OneWorld FFPs.

Assume you also read the segment requirements:

To qualify for Platinum Plus, you must achieve one of the following within a period of 12 consecutive months:

Earn 55,000 tier miles.
Travel a minimum of 42 Segments (at least 12 Segments must be flown on Royal Jordanian flights).

I'm reading it at earn 55,00 miles or travel a minimum 42 segments which 12 of those have to be on RJ.

Here's from the website:

I think that's what moa said in the post you quoted except you left out the reference to 55,000 tier miles.

Thank you everyone for your contributions

I think it's probably not worth trying to get "easy emerald" with RJ. Took a closer look and found their T&C at http://www.rj.com/en/royal_plus_terms_conditions.html

Looking at the "Membership Cards" section ...
Minimum RJ flight for Silver tier qualification or maintenance is 4
Minimum RJ flights for Gold tier qualification or maintenance is 10
Minimum RJ flights for Platinum tier qualification or maintenance is 20
omg!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

If you were based in HKG, doing 20 flights would be easy as you could do lots of BKK flights from HKG on RJ.

Yup and KUL-BKK too.
