Help needed with AONE3 from DOH to maximum mileage.
 
Hi

I am trying to put together a AONE3 from DOH to maximise mileage but getting a good few F segments.

Important cities are SYD & MCO/TPA/MIA, the rest will be flown as a MR, so destinations are not important.

Thanks for any help.

You can't do SYD on a 3-continent OWE. The minimum is 4 continents if you want to touch Oz, S. America or Africa.

So what's it to be? Max miles (AA EQM or EQP?) from an AONE3 or are you willing to go to an AONE4?

Can't I do AONE3 if I take the LHR-SYD as one segment booked on one flight number?

No. LHR-SYD even on QF2/32 etc is treated as touching Asia

You may be confusing this with the rule which allows two intercontinental entries/exits in Asia if one is on single plane service Europe to S.W. Pacific which merely stops in Asia.

That is what I was thinking. If I have to go to Asia I might as well make the most of it. lol

I don't have much time for overnights so now have to plan to fly most of it in rotation which I did before.

What about ORD-DEL-SYD? You don't touch Europe that way. IIRC ORD-DEL is considered a transatlantic routing.

Still uses a continent. From the OWE rules:

(n) Nonstop transatlantic travel on AA between DEL and ORD is permitted.
For travel ex South America/South West Pacific- when this service is utilised a minimum of a 4 Continent Fare must be charged.

For travel ex North America/Asia - when this service is utilised a minimum of a 3 continent fare must be charged.

I'm going to change this into a DONE4 now and start in AMM.

Any advise on routing to maximum my mileage. The only places I need to stop are SYD and MCO/TPA/MIA.
