Miles for flights to Cuba

I live in the UK but am part of the AAdvantage programme which means I can't earn miles on the Iberia flights to Havana. I have been looking into other oneworld programme I could enrol in and then transfer the points back to my AA account on points.com but it doesn't look like any of the other airlines participate in mileage transfer with points.com. Anyone have any ideas?

There must be a more costly way of dealing with points than transferring them on Points.com; but I can't think of it at the moment. 'Nuff said on that topic.

If you're only going to Havana once, I'd forget about the points. If you go there regularly, enroll in another program for the specific purpose of accumulating these points. IMO, however, the earn/burn ratio on AA is the best in OW, by far; so I'd use the alternate program only for trips to HAV.

Just fly MAD-MEX on IB and get another ticket on AM MEX-HAV. That avoids the USA problems and maximises OW points accrual in your program.
