Which airline program is best for small mileages use
 

I actually fly with Star Alliance, but recently I took a flight on American Airlines. I haven't joined any program on oneworld but was wondering if I do join to "claim" those miles, which airline program would be good for someone who probably won't fly much with oneworld airlines (sorry :)

I am based in Singapore, so was thinking of Cathay, or BA?
