Upgrading a Qantas flight with BA miles

I'm flying from Brisbane to Los Angeles on Qantas in August (paid for economy). I would like to upgrade this to business class. Unfortunately, I only have about 23,000 of the 72,000 Qantas points required to do such an upgrade.

Currently, my booking isn't associated with my Qantas FF number. I was thinking that I could associate it with my British Airlines FF number and upgrade using BA points. Is this possible?

No. You can only use BA miles to upgrade BA flights and certain AA and IB flights.

Thanks - just what I was looking for. Are there any airlines which allow you to upgrade using their points on Qantas flights?

I don't immediately know if any but its probably a better question for the Qantas forum:

Only Qantas Frequent Flyer points can be used to upgrade in such a manner on Qantas flights.
