Circle Pacific 22K or 26K ?
Dear all,
Proposed route: HKG-YYZ-LAX-SYD-HKG 2205x in Great Circle Mapper or 2207x in Oneworld website. Is that count as 26K ticket already or it have some "buffer"? Any suggestion to make it less than 22k? Origin: HKG Must Stop YYZ. all the rest can be adjusted but I put LAX-SYD in just to fly A380, anyplace else I can fly on A380? edited to add: I have the A380 route list but still this seems to be the best shot... http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airl...dule/global/en I will be flying the Pacific Circle and my Mum with me will be on Oneworld award ticket with AA Miles, which the same miles used can fly up to 25000miles. So should I just fly more place to earn some miles back and purchase a 26K fare? Thanks! Cheers/HK-UMICH |
There is no buffer. 1 mile over takes you to the next level. Try going to BNE instead of SYD. If you really want to go to SYD, then get a cheap local flight BNE-SYD-BNE. Its Commonly <$100 each way.

HKG-ORD-LAX-SYD-HKG
ORD-YYZ-ORD I realize that the AA flight ORD-YYZ is less than desirable but it would pull the total down under 22K. At least it is a short flight. Are you going after CX startup HKG-ORD? Happy wandering Fred |
agree with wandering Fred on the oRD-YYZ dropping the total mileage down below 22K
I've done about 6 of the SYD-HKG-YYZ trips in the last year. For me, I'd rather spend the extra cash and do an FCIRC22 rather than a DCIRC26 any day, especially for the HKG-ORD/YYZ segments. For me it was more important to return to SYD at the right time rather than get to YYZ (as you arrive at night anyways regardless of the route). I will say that Fiona (CX CSD) on the HKG-YYZ route is one of the best I've come across in all my years of travel. |
