Best OW partner for awards.

I was looking at the charts and trying to figure out the best OW partner to sign up for, possibly getting the best value. I currently have and *A card and Skyteam. This year I mostly few LH metal which made me get the Miles and More card but if I kept the miles in AC I would have reached Elite status *G, but instead only got to FTL *S (over 50K status miles don't go far on LH programs) so for this I was a little pissed since having *G status gives you access to all Lounges and all check-in counters when flying *A. Anyways, besides the point.

I might be flying more BA or IB flights next year, also I have a credit card where I can transfer in my points there to BA so I'm getting a good idea I will prob. sign up for BA. My situation is that I fly alot sometimes on super cheap fares (B,W,S) and sometimes (M, Y). I might not reach status, but if there is a chance that one of them would let me hit something useful then I would like to know now.

I would be interested in Business check-in and the Lounges. I like the perks of some snacks and drinks once going thru security and before boarding, and of course using the check-ins cause you are less likely to be stuck behind grandma who has never flow before while checking in at a Business counter. Those who fly alot are use there and know their ...., and how to be processed quickly.

Suggestions would be great. Thanks.

In regards to *A, LH has a great program if you fly a lot of paid C or F or if you fly a lot within Europe on everything but the cheapest fare.
Otherwise AC is a better program for you.

Within OW, generally people say the best program for the casual flyer is AA. Reasonably easy to get status and cheap award flights. The only disadvantage I can think of is no lounge access on purely US domestic itineraries.

But, with *A and ST and OW you might be spreading yourself a bit too thin. If all your flying just gets you 50k miles p.a. you should put all your eggs into one basket so to speak.

Sound advice.
