PEK Lounges
I'm curious about lounges in PEK. The most recent thread I could find is two years old. I'm flying AA 186, which leaves at 6:55 AM, so I doubt I'll get there early enough to have lounge time, but still, I'm wondering what there is. The OneWorld lounge search page shows three lounges, none AA: Dragonair/Cathay Pacific; a BGS First and Business Class Lounge for Finnair and Japan Airlines; and an Air China First and Business Class Lounge (which says it is operated by a third party on behalf of British Airways).
Update: A Google search turned up a page on aa.com saying they use the Dragonair/Cathay lounge, at gate E20. AA 186 left from E30 today, per EF. No idea how far this is. |

BA indeed uses CA Lounges - these are regular CA (Air China) Lounges and are not operated by a third party.

If you need wifi access, ask at the lounge check-in desk and they will give you a login id and password. As for food, they have dim sum, pastries, cappuccino, cereal and the basics. They will make an announcement when your AA flight is ready to board. |

The Cathay Pacific lounge is pretty close to E20, the gate that AA flies out of, maybe a 2-3 minute walk. You have to take an elevator up one floor and it is easy to miss it, since that part of the terminal is barren and dark in the early hours of the morning.

should BA switch to use CX lounge in PEK for the sake of better cooperation among CX and BA? (this can reduce management issues in flights connection)

The PEK CA Biz lounge presents very well, but the food is a level or two lower than the impression gained upon walking in.
