back-to-back ticketing AA/BA
search is not yielding much, but i am trying to figure out if the i was to book a RT with Saturday night stay on AA and then one on BA if this is considered back to back ticketing by the airlines since it is both one world? if it is are the chances good they would be aware?

Can you add some detail, please? Are you saying AA BOS-LHR-BOS and BA LHR-BOS-LHR with interleaved dates?

yes that is the exact scenario, trying to take advantage of prem economy on red eye for a reasonable rate. |
I seriously doubt that their computer systems are anywhere close to being that interleaved.

Oh, and AA-BA-IB haven't had the time to file any "joint" transatlantic tariffs or such yet (heck, all their transatlantic fares not only are still separate, but the cheaper one specifically say you can't fly on the codeshare flights operated by the other airline's metal!!) |
thank you hillrider that is very helpful!

Is this still OK to do with the increasing AA/BA integration?
Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but the original question that the OP listed is exactly what I was wondering about.
Now that AA and BA seem to be offering each others' inventory for sale (or at least pretty close to it, from what I've read on these boards), is this still a safe thing to do? I did actually try reading the tariff, and couldn't see that it was prohibited anywhere, but thought I'd seek the collective wisdom around here! |
