Etihad and AA

I am not sure this is the right place to post this. I am set to fly about 17K miles on Etihad. I found that it has a codeshare with AA. Does anyone know if I can earn AA miles on EY?

No - not if you're flying on an EY flight number

EY is not an AA partner airline - see here

However, if you are flying EY metal, but with an AA flight number, then you can earn AA miles

one of my flight segments is an AA codeshare. Any idea on how/where I can book the flight with AA codeshare on one segment and EY on the rest?

Thanks

Will depend on the route. The AA codeshare may be only bookable with another AA flight, it may be in a higher fare class than the EY fare.

Also for anyone who thought EY had a future in oneworld.
EY has just signed an agreement with DJ/VA in Australia. QF has responded by dropping all codeshares.
