Theoretically any carrier can change any ticket - date/flight changes, reroutes/re-issues, etc. In practice, so few airline personnel know anything about RTWs that the odds of someone screwing up are very high.

Some airlines (BA, QF in particular) will hit you with a "service fee" for any changes, including date/flight changes without a re-route. You also run the risk of the whole PNR getting goofed up if the airline making the change uses a different GDS than the one issuing the ticket - see the "left hand/right hand" thread now current.

Who issued your ticket? Is it super hard to contact them? That would be what I'd do.

+1. Unless it is really difficult I would always ask the issuing carrier to make the changes.
