OT: Possible jet blue in OW
|
Aren't they all economy though? Not what oneworld really wants.
To be honest, we had a better flight from cun-mia with them last year than with AA the other way round. No meals on the AA flight in business class-just a pack of peanuts and a coke  Jet blue on the other hand had live TV :) |
Maybe it's because Wille Walsh wants to turn BA into the same model. You know, cut back on food and other non essential services, get a cheaper labour force to work for him. Oh, wait.... :D

B6 is better than Aer Lingus (WW's previous creation) but is all Y
|
NO WAY - we (Star Alliance folks) really DO hope they will join *A one day:D:p
And IIRC LH (Lufthansa, not long haul) owns about 10% of jetBlue shares - I don't believe they would let them join OW. |
Jetblue are great, I've flown with them once JFK to BOS, they got my luggage from checkin to aircraft in 20 minute before takeoff now that is what call service
|
I love Jet Blue! They give us FREE flights... completely free... nada.. nyet... to pay... fabulous! :D ^

JetBlue may be all economy, but they blow BA out of the water in terms of short-haul service and quality. Some might even say they are better than Club Europe; they are certainly better value.
And besides, JetBlue is a domestic/North American operation. Not as if they will be siphoning off F-pax. OW could use some expansion anyway... it's not exactly the best connected alliance in the world. SkyTeam may be "low class" but at least they get you to where you want to go. |

Jetblue is the most active carrier at JFK. Their domestic US position will be important to both BA and AA after the merger. |
Over now to Oneworld for more discussion

Even with all Y I do not care I would gladly welcome them into OW with open arms. Who here would rather take B6 over AE

It's already got a quasi-C option in terms of having and charging more for Y seats with 38" pitch, albeit they are still 6 across. It conceivably could stick with this. Or if it wanted/needed to offer a premium cabin to join an alliance, it could simply take the European approach of closing off the middle seat to make it more truly C (or in the domestic USA travel context, what's called F). Come to think of it, if JetBlue were to go that latter route, and given the IFE options and better service it offers, it's C/F (domestic) product would be as good or better than any US legacy carrier. |
