I was actually at the LAN site, but it doesn't look like you can search award availability without being a LAN member. Since I'm still a bit green on FT, I wanted to see how people were seeing if a stopover is available as opposed to a layover.

LAN award can be found on ba.com, search for partners awards instead of BA's. Also use segment search will yield better results. For example- MIA-LIM then LIM-SCL, then piece puzzle together for your itinerary. BA allows stopover on the outbound and return, so, just look at the cities LAN serves and find your availability.

Finding the LAN flights on their own website, if you don't want to pay for ExpertFlyer is easy. Sign up for the LANpass, which is free, then you can access everything even with no balance. You never need to activate it. BTW, that works for almost every airline, when you want their internal FF program data.

On my trip to Easter Island in 2000 I flew DFW-SCL with an AA award (business). I purchased a discounted economy ticket SCL-IPC-SCL for $300. Upon check-in in SCL for the IPC flight I purchased an upgrade for $250.
