Which OneWorld program to choose?

Hi,

I wanted to start earning an emerald card in one world and wanted to know which program to choose? I already have SEN with LH *A and thought it would be an idea to get the equivilent in One World too.

Please if you could recomment me which program that is easiest for me to achive this. My home Airport is ARN.

Thanks in advance

You're going to need to tell us which routes you fly and in what class for us to be able to offer any useful advice.

Hi again,
To clearify, I want to find the program that is easiest to reach highest tier. I dont mind flying a few longhaul C trips with a specific airline to achieve this.
For instance, to get *A Gold with SK you only need 50K miles if you live in the UK. This is achievalbe by doing approx. two longhaul return trips in C.

What would be the equivilent program to choose in OW?

Any ideas?

Are you based in the UK? Reason for asking is that if you happen to be based in Europe but not the UK, British Airways has a much more favorable (lenient) requirement for elite status progression than it does for those with UK (or N. America) addresses. Elite progression is based on "tier points" which reflect distance + class of service, not just mileage.

You might want to read up on the BAEC and AA programs on their respective forums on Flyertalk.

you would have enough status credits for Emerald via Qantas after 4 Biz round-trips HKG-LAX. Like BA, however, QF requires four own-coded flights on your account before giving out any status at all. It would take 5 Biz round-trips on AA, but AA does not enforce the 4 own-coded flights rule. CX and BA make you start over at zero status credits every time you move up a tier.

I live in China now and travel often to the U.S, I am plannig to get another status from AA or CX, I think AA is a lot easier.

If flying regularly to USA, then the 8 TATL Free upgrades from Business to First would swing it to AA.

I would suggest investigating the Finnair' Plus FF program or AA's program.

I'm going to close this thread as we now have a sticky thread covering similar issues.
