To Dubrovnik on BA Miles (w/o BA)

Looking for the best option to Dubrovnik (or close) without using BA. Has anyone done it on an alternate OW award? Departure would be from JFK.

Looks like BA is the only OW operator into DBV. Would Split be close enough? If using BA miles you'd have to use somebody besides AA for the transatlantic portion, so maybe JFK AY HEL MA BUD MA SPU?

Thanks for the suggestion; but it appears that MA no longer goes to SPU or is just seasonal.

I am looking at other options in the area including Podgorica (TGD) if anyone can suggest an alternate.

Thanks.

The many ferries that go from Italy make for a pleasant trip - especially the overnight voyage. There are lots of busses that run down to Dubrovnik if you can't get a ferry directly to the city.

IB has offered seasonal service to DBV in past summers, no reason to expect they won't again this year but OP doesn't mention when he/she needs to go.

BA miles can be redeeemed on Aer Lingus and they fly to DBV.

PS: I am curious as to why you do not want to fly BA. Is it to avoid the LHR/LGW transfer? Does that incur the APD tax even if its within 24 hours?

ETA: I've just checked and the DBV route is seasonal (from 28 March).

Thanks all, looking to travel mid April. Will inquire with BA on EI as can't process online.

As a follow-up, nothing at the lowest level worked on OW (AA or BA), best they could do was into FCO or CDG. ST (DL) could do FRA or ZAG; but third time was the charm with SA (CO).

Thanks to LH I could get right into DBV on my preferred dates, stopover in CDG and back on VS! Just speaking of rewards SA has been a great surprise.
