Reroute LONE4
Due to the draconian measures instigated at US airports & on US carriers I am considering rerouting my in progress LONE4 to avoid the US.
Present itinerary is: LHR-OSL on BA (flown)//NRT-DEL on JAL (flown)//SIN-PER onQF//MEL-AKL onQF-SYD onQF-HNL on QF-LAX on AA//SEA-ORD on AA-YYZ on AA-LHR on BA Change would be:LHR-OSL//NRT-DEL//SIN-PER//MEL-AKL-SYD-SCL on LAN-MEX on LAN-GUA on MX-MEX ONMX-YYZ ONMX-LHRONBA However mileage monkey claims MEX-GUA is invalid as Mexivana is not a One World carrier. Wondering if my proposed changes are valid or not as I thought Mexicana was now a part of One World? |
Mexicana is now a part of OneWorld, but MileageMonkey has yet to have Mexicana's flights added to its database.
Your new itinerary looks valid*. It now has an extra continent (Sth America). You will be up for the following:
You have two segments to spare - perhaps fit a SCL-IPC-SCL flight? (or if partying is more your style then SCL-GIG-SCL;)) Also you are now backtracking in SWP (MEL-AKL-SYD-SCL). Are you aware that the SYD-SCL flight stops in AKL? So you could fly MEL-SYD-AKL-SCL and cut down on flying hours. *Just recalled something - I have a vague memory that you can only use the airlines that were in OneWorld when you originally ticketed. If that is the case then you'll be out of luck - cannot use Mexicana (this assumes you ticketed prior to MX's joining OW in November 2009). |
Thanks pandaperth kind of thought mileage monkey hadn't updated yet & I missed the fact that the SCL flight stops in AKL thanks for that.
Actually just plan on transiting through to MEX, would have gone straight from SCL-GUA but couldn't find a One World connection that way. The small extra cost will be worth it as my little boycott in protest of the lunacy put in place by US authorities that is causing 4 hr lineups at US security at Pearson YYZ. |

If the incremental cost is for the originally ticketed fare, you automatically keep the discount. (the discount was implemented as a reduction of the fare). |

Why would you lose the sale discount?
If the incremental cost is for the originally ticketed fare, you automatically keep the discount. (the discount was implemented as a reduction of the fare). But IIRC they did include a specific rule that if the ticket was reissued (or was it recalculated) then it would be at the then current price. |
