Roughly how much will taxes be on a RTW flight?

So Star Alliance gives you a tax estimate upfront (usually around $1000 for me so far). Can I expect oneworld to be about the same? Specifically, on the posted fare of $3,200 on a 4 continent, economy class ticket originating in Uganda.

I tried to run a test by putting a sample itinerary into the oneworld online tool but it had an error twice right after I clicked Book Now, so I can't think of anything else except asking here.

Thank you very much if you are able to help.

Taxes will vary depending on the exact itinerary flown , without knowing which points you are planning to stop in or transit via any estimate would simply be a number plucked out of thin air and pretty much meaningless .

Ok, say 14-16 segments, I really just want to know if I should be expecting something from 800-1200 in taxes or something vastly different than that.

We can't work out the taxes you'd have to pay unless we know where you are going and which airlines are being used.
Taxes to enter/exit Australia are different to taxes to enter/exit Japan. Taxes when the RTW is ticketed by Qantas are different to when it is ticketed by CX. Taxes for using LHR are different then taxes for using CDG.

An LONE4 ticketed by QF travelling SYD-SIN-NRT-KIX-HKG-JFK-DFW-LAX-JFK-CDG-HKG-MEL-SYD will have different taxes to an AA ticketed LONE4 MEL-LAX-SFO-ORD-JFK-HEL-LHR-HKG-NRT-SYD-MEL.

Trying to be a little more helpful here. Taxes depend (as mentioned) from a lot of different factors. But 1000 US$ is a good first guess. But then again it depends.....

From UK I normally pay £250-270 which is around USD$480. But last time I book with IB cost me £190 more as fuel surcharge. That was $800 in total.

The answer is completely available by using the on-line booking tool, and going all the way to the pricing/confirmation screen. Once you see the fare, there's a clickable link to a screen itemizing the taxes, fuel surcharges, etc. - specifically for your itinerary. Originating in Uganda means BA as the issuing carrier UNLESS you are flying directly to N. America and can use the AA codeshare on the BA flight to LHR (in which case having the ticket issued by AA will save considerably on fuel surcharges, but will require you to communicate with AA in order to get them as the issuing airline.)

Without knowing precise itinerary, including which carriers on which segments, which points are stopovers v. connections, dates, a guess is all you're going to get here. My guesses - with a lot of BA or QF segments, London stopovers, etc. add 15% - 20% to the ticket cost. With more AA segments, less, maybe 10-12%.

Try clearing cookies and cache and running the online tool again.
