Which program to choose?
Hi!
I have a flight to south-east asia booked for this winter, with OneWorld airlines. Today I am a member of Star Alliance, and so I thought it might be a good idea to sign up for a OneWorld program as well. My flights will be as follow, Stockholm - London, BA779, Class S London - Hong Kong, BA31, Class Q Singapore - London, QF31, Class N London Stockholm, QF3353, Class N I will probably do about two trips in Europe and one more intercontinental flight before fall 2010. I will most likely to most of these with British Airways. I am aware that this is discount economy fares, so I can't expect a massive amount of points. Still, I obviously would like to choose what would be most profitable for me. |
You'll likely want to stay away from AAdvantage, because you'll only get 25% mileage (and 25% EQM towards status) on your discount economy BA flights.
As for BA, you won't come close to BAEC Silver with the amount of flying you've said you'll be doing, nor will you do so with QF, though you'll get 100% mileage on each program for the itinerary you've given above. Happy flying, and all the best finding the right program. |
Thankyou for the answer, and I think I'm just going to join the BA Club, since I'm planning on doing many of my future flights with them :)
