AONE3 ex CGK for review

I am planning an AONE3, looking to maximise QF status credits and miles and enjoy long haul First. Current plan is
CGK-HKG-KIX-HKGx-LHR-MCT-LHR-IST-LHR-LAX-MIA-SJO-DFW-ORD-JFK-HKGx-CGK
which gives 43804 miles according to mileage monkey. All sectors are in A class except LHR-IST and MIA-SJO. Does anyone have any comments or improvements? Thanks in advance.

Don't rely on F on regional CX - it's liable to disappear randomly through equipment changes or it simply being pulled from the route.

I assume this is in the northern winter so you can't go to ANC.

LHR-SFO-MIA is 155 miles longer than LHR-LAX-MIA.

DFW-SJU-JFK is 2219 miles better than DFW-ORD-JFK

No FC on MIA-SJO.

The UK government will thank you for the APD payments. Can you turn one of the longhaul LHR connections into a transit?

Again, only J offered on Caribbean routes, so no A on either segment. DFW-ORD-JFK will yield more QF SCs than DFW-SJU-JFK.

Well OK, but far more miles, and Caribbean J is the same seats and more or less the same service as domestic F, so it comes down to whether SCs or miles are more important (the OP specified both).

Which leads me to wonder what are the maximised 6 sectors in NA on a DONEX in summer when ANC is available and winter when it isn't. Maximised on the one hand for miles and on the other for status credits.

Thanks everyone. Miles are probably more important than status credits as I should have more than enough to get to platinum with the trip.
Have changed routing to CGK-HKG-KIX-HKGx-LHR-MCT-LHR-IST-LHR-SFO-MIA-SJO-DFW-SJU-JFK-HKGx-CGK
now 46,187 miles according to mileage monkey.

Do you really want to maximize miles? This doesn't make too much sense with QFF usually.

Here is another idea:

CGK-HKG-KIX-HKG-LHR-MCT-LHR-IST-LHR-YVR-JFK-AUA-LAX-DFW-JFK-HKG-CGK

46686 miles and 2260 SCs compared to 46187 miles and 2170SCs.

The advantage of this itinerary is CX F YVR-JFK. Some of those flights are seasonal so it depends on when you actually go (with the critical one being AUA-LAX).

Also consider that it is good to maximize SCs. A it is possible to use them between years so you get WP for two years but also because you want to get LTG. And 6 or 7 of those beasts will get you there.

Depending on who one speaks with at the AA RTW desk, they might balk at ticketing an itinerary without an AA transoceanic segment.

JFK-HKG could be booked on AA codeshare to get around that "problem"

RA-wannabe Oct 22, 2009 1:52 pm

Is there a direct flight between JFK-AUA??

Never had this problem so far and in theory they should ticket any itinerary.

Thanks for all the help. here is the latest
CGK-HKG-KIX-HKGx-LHR-MCT-LHR-IST-LHR-YVR-JFK-SJO-DFW-JFK-HKGx-CGK
The next problem is ticketing. Is the online booking tool the best or should I use the AA RTW desk? I'm confused re the " Paying for an ex-CGK DONE3 in Aus " thread. Thanks

You are only using 15 of the 16 segments allowed.
