Kangaroo Island status
Wondering the status, based on the fires, of the island is. Interested in choosing between Scenic Tour of Kingscote versus Cape Willoughby lighthouse and a visit to a winery. Choice we have on a cruise excursion, interested if either has been impacted by the fires to the point of avoiding it. Not asking for your opinion of the best to see. Thank you

The eastern half of Kangaroo Island should be fine. The fires burnt through most of the western side of the island. You'd probably be doing the locals a favour by spreading some of your tourist dollar there.

When is your visit? Fire season isn't over until April and normally hasn't started yet. As mentioned half the island is untouched, the other half is charred black. Any excursion would be selecting the better half, so could be still a nice tour.

Thank you. Great map for our purpose. Coming on cruise ship in February. And yes, no one ever know in advance what it will be like anywhere, but we try to plan sorry I forgot to put in "when"

Please visit and help out those businesses still standing, but struggling to book out, due to the fires. There are many accommodation options on the east side and lots of beautiful things to see.
