Duty Free alcohol on connecting domestic flight NZ
I'm arriving into Auckland from Cook Islands and have a connecting flight to Christchurch. Will I be able to get a bottle of rum at arrivals, and bringing it on the plane to Christchurch. I assume I have to go through a new security screening? I don't want to pre-order and pay online, before I'm sure.
I know it's not a problem in Europe as long as it's sealed, but I wasn't able to find much information googling.

It will be fine. I hand carry booze all the time.
Don't forget you'll have to pick up your checked bags, go through customs/MPI, deposit your bag(s) and change terminal for the domestic flight, so even if it was going to be an issue, you'd have the opportunity to put it in your suitcase.
Also, the duty free allowance is more generous than many people realise, so you could bring in 3 bottles if you like
