French Polynesia (Tahiti and Moorea)

Building a trip/itinerary for my parents but can't seem to find too many options to "island hop" around tahiti/moorea. They will mainly be staying on Moorea but I can still adjust the reservations to have more time on Tahiti. The only day trip that i was able to find to an island other than tahiti/moorea is Tetiaroa from Tahiti.

Anyone know of some other islands/atolls that would be worth visiting as a day trip? Was thinking locations accessible by boat would be more convenient than by air.

Many of the islands are quite far from PPT making a day trip impossible (4 hour flying time each way for some islands). There are 5 or 6 close, such as BOB. Check the map at https://www.airtahiti.com/all-our-destinations and you can certainly find at least 6 that work. Schedule varies by day of week as well as seasonablly, and many are multi-hop routes. Enjoy, but the fares will not be cheap as a non-resident.

If you really want to island hop then a small ship cruise might be better for you

There is some freighter (not one of the Aranuis) that slowly makes the rounds. More basic and rustic, shall we say.

From what I have read and seen on the internet the main Island Tahiti is nice but Moorea and Bora Bora are much nicer. So You should really check out Bora Bora.
