Flying to Adelaide/Perth via Singapore from California?

We wish to travel to Adelaide or Perth via Singapore from SFO.
I have AA (American) and AMEX MR points. What airlines, routing is better - one leg can be direct from Oz to SFO.
It has been a long while since I went to Singapore.

As you have done USA Australia several times before, you are no doubt aware the best is the airline/route that has (award) availability.
When researching what have you found?

ADL has no flights to/from USA, but has CX flights to HKG & MH to KUL (both Oneworld) and FJ to NAN (AA ff partner)

ADL from BNE/SYD/MEL is easy - many flights.

I found Sigaporean air and United for SFO to Singapore - then Qantas to ADL

With all the events, MH might not be safer? But United and ANA flys this route from SFO to KUL

SQ also fly SIN ADL
QF does not fly SIN ADL. QF does not have any international flights from/to ADL

Flying USA to Perth or Adelaide via Asia is quite sensible. There are no direct flights from the US to either city, so you have to connect. The Asia connection usually makes the trip longer (it depends on where in the USA you are coming from), but the connecting experience is better than at SYD/BNE, and sometimes you can make a single connection journey via places like NYC which require a double connection if you take a routing with a direct USA-Oz leg.

I would recommend SIN or HKG as the preferred connecting airport, and staying on SQ or CX respectively for the entire journey if you can.
