Australian customs inform of seizures?

Came through Sydney. Bag search, found some wood (I had thought OK because fully encased in epoxy), sent on way.
Get home, 2 supplements (algae pills, a herb for blocking sugar) both gone, no note given.

Came from Bali and to be honest I'm not surprised.

Shouldn't they let me know?

I guess I can claim on insurance for the loss... And assume it must have gone at the Bali side... Just a bit wierd they take only the food.

Edit : (airport helpline is a switchboard of waiting and people with no clue)

Would of most likely been at DPS, as you know in SYD they search on arrival once you have your bags.

This. And bags a are searched in front of you, so any seizure you'd know about.

Likely the disappearance happened in Bali - but not sure if it was theft or a customs seizure (prohibited export).
