Stopover Help
I have never done a stopover so am in unfamiliar territority here. Here is my situation: I am having to use the corporate travel site to book my travel. Currently the flight I am looking at is a MCO-DTW-AMS-HEL departing on a Sun, returning on a Fri. Ticket is "B" class, refundable, (upgrades for SWU available) and fare rules state 1 free stopover. I would like to stay in AMS for a couple of days on the return. If I select multicity with the stop in AMS, the fare is $150 more than the "B" but the fare class changes to a "k" class ticket = no upgrades. Would the best course of action be to go ahead and book the "B" class ticket, then call back and have the return changed to make use of the free stopover in AMS? Plenty of availability on desired return flights.
