Piggybacking request
Hi,
I am going to have a 5 hours wait at Schipol Amsterdam on 9/11. I was just wondering if any of you are kind enough to let me be your companion to go to the KLM lounge if you happen to be in Schipol? I'm a NW F/A and my flight to Frankfurt is not until 5pm (the earliest are all booked and I won't be able to standby)... I will be arriving from Seattle on NW 34... Would love to be able to take a shower while waiting that long at Schipol.. Thank you! :) |
if not, ask someone in J for their boarding pass... all they do is scan them in the KL lounge for access.

I hate to break it to you...

I also had a paid World Club membership. The KLM agent told me that the showers were only for the use of KLM lounge members. I was shocked and dismayed and ended up going to an airside hotel that offered showers. So even if you enter the lounge, you may be denied a shower. But be assured that you can pay $4 or $5 and get one at the hotel. Personally, I've avoided KLM ever since then! Best of luck though. |

This is going back 4 or 5 years, but the last time I wanted to take a shower at Schipol (waiting for my connect to LHR) I was denied access to the showers at the KLM lounge.

Make sure you post your request (in the standardized form) in the NW Managed Meeting thread that is at the top of the forum. You may get a response there.

With the opening of the new refurbished lounges, the showers in the "Crown" lounges are accesible to all who have access to the lounge. You need to register at the desk though.

Mikelevitt, KL quit denying partner elites access to its showers several years ago. As a regular WP elite flying on KL, I haven't been denied access in at least three, maybe five years. Also, they have since remodeled the non-Schengen Crown Lounges, amalgamating Lounge #42 and #52 into a single large lounge which now has ten showers. That being said, in recent months I've had a two-hour wait in the lounge and still not cleared the shower waiting list. By the way, the Mercure opposite the Crown Lounge, which was the "hotel" shower alternative you were referring to, was never $4 or $5. Even four years ago (when I last used it) it was at least €10; I want to say it's €12.50 now. For those of you who are interested (and who bring your own towel and amenities along), there is a free shower alternative in the corridor on the mezzanine level corridor between the Rijksmuseum display and the Crown Lounge. |

4-5 hour in AMS? I'd get out of the airport, hop on the train, and go to central Amsterdam.

Exactly. In Amsterdam, it is really easy to find someone who will be your "companion".

I went looking for that shower last year and looked & looked and never found it (based on descriptions in older threads on this forum). Is it inside the restroom somewhere? Apparently it is still there somewhere, but I am clueless.
