Two different methods of payment

I'm trying to book a somewhat complicated international itinerary in which I am traveling on business but making a stop for vacation along the way. My company will pay up to a certain amount for the ticket and anything beyond that I have to pay for. So basically, I need to put part of my ticket on my corporate credit card and the balance on my own card. I called the Plat line and they said this isn't possible.

Would it be possible to buy a NW gift certificate for the amount that I need and then apply that to my reservation and pay the balance with my corporate card? Does this sound like a feasible work-around or am I missing something?

1) Do you have policies prohibiting personal expenditures on your corporate card

2) Do you have policites prohibiting charging business expenses on anything other than your corporate card?

3) Can you book the business ticket using your corporate credit card, then call back to make the changes that include your personal travel, and use your personal card to pay the difference? This would potentially incur a change fee, so that could be annoying. On the other hand, since you can cancel a ticket within 24 hours, perhaps you could do exactly this without a change fee if done immediate?

Travel agents can do this for sure... We have to book cheapest available coach fare, if you want something else you can pay the difference on a personal card. I have done it a few times.

Just booked my ticket using the gift certificate idea I mentioned and it worked like a charm.
