Do you "Supersize"?
So I've always seen this little offer that flashes around about "Supersizing" your next trip. I've always thought that I earn enough miles already, but then today I looked into it. It seems like a pretty sweet deal. For $20 you can earn an extra 1000 (bonus) miles on your next roundtrip, or in my case because I have the soon-to-be-extinct WP Visa Signature, I'd get 2000 bonus miles for the $20. Seems like such a better deal than having to spend $2000 on my US Bank WorldPerks Visa Gold Check Card to get 2000 miles.
Do you all supersize on a regular basis? Am I the only one who's thinking about it? Have I been missing out for so long? |
I've done it twice. I don't know how good of a deal it is but it was only $20 for flights my work paid for.
I haven't seen these offers too much, but usually will sign up.
If an average award flight is worth $300 and takes 15,000 miles, then that's 50 points/mile. You'd 'break even' with 1000 miles for $20. |
I used to Supersize here and there, but I don't do it anymore. I feel that miles have been devalued lately, and I don't think it's really worth it anymore.
ETA: Oh and btw, be careful if you have nested itineraries; Supersize goes crazy. (E.g. I'd have a long business trip from A to B and I'd have several other flights B-C-B, B-D-B, etc and Supersize doesn't like that. I TTUed and got my miles, but just so you know it's a hassle if you have more complicated itins.) |

Used to. Now I NoSize on NW.
never! 2CPM with no EQMs, just save up the $20s and do a MR
I have never supersized.
I do. I need more NW miles than I earn, and this is better than purchasing miles outright. I personally have experienced no devaluations due to my redemption patterns - which are almost always readily available (out of YUL on AF).
Absolutely. 2000 RDM (with WP Visa) for $20 is $0.01/RDM. Do it enough times, and it's a TATL WBC for $1000ai (not adding redemption fees).
Definitely done it more than once - with the WP Visa boost $20 to round up your account for 2K isn't too bad.
I always supersize. For me 2,000 miles for only $20 is a great deal.

I always supersize. You just cannot beat that price for 2000 miles. I will really miss it when it goes away.
